I love Track and Field⠀ ⠀ One of the reasons is that it holds you accountable. You have to be honest with yourself and accept responsibility. ⠀ ⠀ You can’t hide from the clock. If you haven’t done the work, or the ‘right’ work. It’ll show. And even if you’ve been set the ‘right’ work but cut corners by not eating, sleeping or acting right. Again, it’ll show. ⠀ ⠀ Of course there are loads of reasons which may result in us not performing at our ‘peak’ every time - periodisation, errors, injuries, our own private hurdles etc. And sometimes that’s just the way it is. You appreciate + evaluate performances differently in these conditions. Give yourself credit where credit’s due and move on. ⠀ ⠀ But when those logical reasons can’t quite apply. When everything is theoretically meant to ‘work’ and it just doesn’t... you have to be honest with yourself. Because the clock will always be honest when you perform.⠀ ⠀ You have to break it down, see where to improve and build, make key decisions and go again next time. ⠀ ⠀ This whole process makes achieving a personal best even sweeter. You can sit back + be proud. Because for that moment in time you are the best you’ve ever been. All your hard work, practice and focus is showcased and you have the results - and hopefully the smile - to prove it. ⠀ ⠀ Can’t wait to get back to it 🏁♥️

Patiently waiting for life to go back to normal 🙇🏾‍♀️⠀ ⠀ I hope everyone is staying safe, reaching out to friends + fam and when you’re not working, you’re focusing on things that keep you happy and occupied. Sending loads of love. 2021 is going to be a good one 🧚🏾‍♀️

My thoughts halfway through a tough session ⠀ - OMG⠀ - I can’t feel my legs. ⠀ - I can’t see. ⠀ - *nothing - just a blank* - There are dots floating in the sky. - The sky is too bright. Don’t look at it again. ⠀ - I can feel my legs now. And they sting.⠀ - I taste blood. ⠀ - My chest hurts. The air is so cold. - My eyes hurt. ⠀ - Oh we’re only halfway through. I have to do this again, don’t I. ⠀ - *self-pity* ⠀ - I feel sick. ⠀ - I have to walk the lactic out now or it’ll hurt more. ⠀ - Oh no it’s time to go again. ⠀ - I still feel sick. ⠀ - My legs are so wobbly.⠀ - Oh well. ⠀ - It is what it is. ⠀ - It better be worth it ⠀ - It’ll be worth it 😫😂⠀ #thestruggleisreal #tracklife

A year older but none the wiser 😝⠀ ⠀ Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes. Blessed to see another year happy and healthy. Sending loads of love xxx

When I was growing up, sport taught me to be confident in my body, in my abilities and to believe in myself. ⠀ ⠀ We all deserve to feel that way + I regard myself as one of the lucky ones that had this instilled from a young age. ⠀ ⠀ I firmly believe that sport has the potential to give girls + women everywhere the confidence to follow their dreams as far as they want to take them - on or off the track 🔥 ⠀ @nikewomen #BetterSportBetterFuture
